16+ EVENT!!! (PHOTO ID REQUIRED ON ENTRY)

It's time to kick off 2010 with a bang and here at Lighter Massive we are doing exactly that.

DAMAGE CONTROL

A brand new event at a bigger and better venue with two massive rooms, an outside chillout area, a separate bar for 18+ ravers and our usual flavour of top notch production with intense laser power, epic light show and of course more bass than your body can handle.

To top it all off, we decided to start with a killer lineup featuring some of the best names the hard dance world has to offer, as well as the best local and interstate djs.

MARK EG (UK)
With a deep musical history that spans back to the Chicago house and Detroit techno sound of the early 80's, Mark has become widely acclaimed for his intense stage presence, as well as his outrageous antics behind the decks. His ability to cross over into different music movements is simply unrivalled. Mark’s most notable achievements have included his massive popularity in the Serbian/Bosnian and Croatian techno scene; the near sonic domination of the Canadian rave scene; his infiltration of the hard dance scene; his almost cult-like status within the UK hardstyle and hard trance movements; and of course who could forget his place in the UK hardcore scene where Mark has been a well respected part of the furniture for the last fifteen years - playing regularly at all the main events such as Dreamscape, Helter Skelter, Hardcore Heaven and Slammin Vinyl.

Mark also plays regularly at some of the biggest outdoor events on the world stage such as Dance Valley, Impulz, Ground Zero and Q Dance. And of course there’s his Blackout Audio FM techno radio show.
Most recently Mark was voted 'UK's Best Hard Dance DJ' at the Hardcore Heaven Awards 2003, 2004 and 2005 and for his downright lunacy he received the ‘Party Animal’ award 2006 at the London’s Hard Dance Awards. It’s also well documented he was instrumental in the A+R for 90’s giant Bonzai Records and was Assistant Editor for cult music magazines such as Wax and Eternity. He still regularly writes monthly techno reviews for leading UK magazine M8. This is one man who simply lives, eats, sleeps and breathes music.

Selected DJ Mix Albums:

LOG:ONE & WRAGG (UK)
wragg & log:one have been creating an ear catching sound clash of top-notch production and forward thinking hard dance since joining forces in 2005. They have taken the much loved European trance and techno sounds and, through their tireless work in the studio, injected their own style before unleashing it on their eager fan base.

Their collective debut release to the hard dance scene was the internationally acclaimed “Creatures”, on Wragg’s Atmosphere Recordings UK label. A track that gained anthem status in the hard dance scene the world over, with massive Radio 1 plays from DJ Kutski as well as featuring on the Qlimax 2007 official DVD and Ministry Of Sounds’ Hard Dance Awards 2009 Euphoria CD.

Since their first release they have gone from strength to strength with original tracks and remixes for top-name artists including Organ Donors, Lisa Lashes, Alex Kidd, Tommy Pulse and Fausto. They continue to push forward their own unique take on hard trance and techno, fusing the darker elements of the sound with powerful nerve-tingling melodies.

The hot new duo are now in high demand, with highly anticipated appearances at some of Europe’s biggest events including Q-Base (Germany), Frantic, Kiddfectious, Storm, Resonate and the Southern Sound Festival. With many more bookings and releases stacking up the wragg and log:one saga is only just beginning, watch this space!

LOUK (UK)
Louk is proving his worth as one of the bright young talents of the scene, having achieved a fair amount of success in a rather short time, and being described as someone who 'plays like a maniac'. A man who hardly ever sleeps, this is demonstrated by his productions, gigs, promotion, reviews, and an all round dedication for the sinister blend of trance and techno that he has become famed for.

Despite hailing from England, he has a very distinct European sound and loves to play a mash up of Hard Trance and Techno in his sets, basing a love of these genres on a sound he heard at an illegal rave in 2002, at the age of 16, all wide eyed and dribbling. This has resulted in bookings at the likes of Q-Base, Defqon 1, Tunnel, Slammin Vinyl, North Technology, Rectify, Hard Definition, Uprising, Overload, Global Meltdown, Bionic, Premonition and many more. He also regularly plays for Hostile (Newcastle), Atmosphere (Seaton), and Hindsight (Exeter) and held a residency for Eyecon @ Dance Academy in his hometown of Plymouth before it was closed down in 2006.

No stranger to the studio, he has a multitude of productions and remixes on many leading labels accross Europe with the likes of Druck, Naked Lunch, Detox, German Trance, Drizzly, Joyride, Nukleuz, Hindsight, Friction, Excessive, Dataless, Trance NRG, V-Trax and numerous others all releasing his material. He also runs the succesful Compulzion and Benefactor imprints featuring some of the finest and darkest hard trance and techno you can lay your hands upon! With all this in mind you should definitely check him out!

DJ THERA (NL)
Dj Thera aka Pieter Heijnen grows up in a musical environment and at the age of three he already has the urge of playing melodies on an old keyboard. Since 1994 he starts spinning at a local radio station and several regional parties. In 1998 he meets Fabian Bohn. Because of Pieter’s production work they sign a contract with Combined Forces and release vinyls with the projectname “Bassdriver”.

But it really starts to grow the minute they start with their project “Brennan & Heart”. They release tracks on infamous labels such as Fusion, StraightOn, Scantraxx, Seismic and Multigroove. Besides working on this successful project, an unique cooperation develops with superstar dj Don Diablo.

Pieter also did production work for him with as most well known releases “Don Diablo – Anarchy” fom ID&T Records and “Orion’s Voice – Cockroaches” from Re-Fuel Records and Overdose including a very own Dj Scot Project Remix.

With bookings Pieter also accomplish some milestones. Pieter was the first hardstyle dj playing in Chicago, USA and in Belfast, N-Ireland and he has dj-ed at parties like Defqon1, Q-Base, Frequence and Impulz Outdoor.

In the end of 2005 Pieter stops with the project “Brennan & Heart” due to creative differences. This lead to a short quiet period even though Pieter did gigs in Denmark, Scotland and England with his new found name Dj Thera.

But in 2008 Pieter starts a whole new adventure with putting together a new label called Theracords and a new kick off of his dj career. The main goal of his label is to release diverse and original harddance music without thinking in boxes, but always with the mindset that it has to be produced with passion and from the heart.

The first release “Dj Thera – Serotonin” became an instant hit and many releases later a sick list of worldwide well-known artists support the Theracords releases: Mark EG, Proteus, Yoji Biomehanika, Organ Donors, Louk, Warmduscher, Dj Scot Project, Hellraiser, Crypsis, Dutch Master, Trance Generators and Activator. Dj Kutski has also played several Theracords releases on his BBC 1 Radio show and Pieter’s latest release (Again and Again/In Between) appeared in the August issue of the MixMag.

Bookings all over the world are the result of the successes Pieter has got with his label with the milestone playing in Vancouver, Canada. Besides that, Theracords label parties have been taken place in Melbourne (AUS), Belfast (UK) and more coming up soon in Denmark, UK and Australia.

Furthermore Pieter has also got a well respected radio show every Wednesday evening which is aired at 4 different radio stations (FearFM, Hardshockers.fm, Hardstyle.pl and DI.fm) with over 2000 listeners worldwide.

This month Dj Thera also set up the first sub label of Theracords called Therabyte to focus even more on the whole harddance aspect and keeping Theracords more hardstyle oriented. Check out the label websites here: www.theracords.com and www.therabyte.com
